Volleyball Falls in Opening Round of Regional

The MSJC volleyball team saw their season come to an end on Saturday night in Oceanside as they lost to Mira Costa 3-0 in the opening round of the 3C2A Southern California Regional tournament.

The Eagles, who finished the season with a record of 13-11, lost in straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-22.

MSJC was led by Tala Paige Gurganious and Daija Malcolm on the offensive side of the net with Gurganious knocking down a team high 12 kills and Malcolm recording 11. Setter Angelina Browder capped off her strong season dishing out 36 assists.

On defense Lilly Galvin picked up a team best 22 digs, Malcolm had 13, and Alena Magee added a solo block and a block assist. The Eagle were making their 7^th playoff appearance in the past 9 years and their third in a row.

Earlier in the week the Inland Empire Athletic Conference also named their 2025 All League Team. Five Eagles were honored. Malcolm and Browder both made First-Team All-IEAC while Galvin and Lorna Lopez were named to the Second Team. Gurganious was listed as Honorable Mention.
